Ceiling Fans
Ceiling Fans are a lovely asset to any home because they create a cool, comfortable and stylish atmosphere to any home. A ceiling fan gives any room a
Southern, breezy look. Aside from their aesthetic qualities, ceiling fans create a practical and relaxing atmosphere. If you decide to purchase these fans, a few things must be taken into account.
First of all, it is important to choose the right size fan, depending on the size of the room. Usually, the blade span of a ceiling fan ranges from thirty to fifty-five inches. In order to make sure you get the right size fan, you must measure the size of
your room. If your room is about seventy-five square feet, you should get a fan that is about thirty to thirty five inches. If your room ranges between seventy five to a hundred and fifty square feet, your fan size should between thirty-six an forty-two
inches. If your room ranges between one hundred and forty four to two hundred and twenty five square feet, you should get a fan that is forty-four inches. Lastly, if your room ranges between two hundred and twenty five and four hundred square feet, you
should look at ceiling fans that range between fifty and fifty five inches.
After you have chosen the size of your ceiling fan, it is important that you decide how you want to mount your fan. Most commonly, ceiling fans are mounted in the center of the room. Also, it should be about seven feet from the ground and about eighteen
inches from the walls. The best idea in terms of height is to install the fan eight to nine feet from the ground.
There are also three types of mounts: a standard mount, extended mount and flush mount. A standard mount is a three to five inch down rod with a diameter between one and a half to three fourths of an inch. The extended rod is used to hang the fan at an
eight to nine foot height from the floor. These down rods are available in about six to one hundred and twenty inches. Lastly, the flush mount anchors the fan directly to the ceiling. A standard fan can be used as a flush mount as well.
The last component of choosing a ceiling fan is to decide on which motor is going to work best for you. There is a wide range of blade styles in different models available. It is a good idea
to examine how the different ceiling blades will affect your needs.
